*NEW* Point 9: perfect audience member

My perfect audience member does not appear on the uktrides webpage but is pretty popular nowadays thanks to Billie Eilish. The aesthetic I want to focus on is Horror or Horrorcore. This aesthetic does come with a Trigger Warning:

This aesthetic has the potential to touch on dark subjects such as real-life murder and acts of violence. Because this is still a school project I will not go into detail with these also please keep in mind that none of these things will appear in any way on my blog, artist website or music video.

Horror is a genre of speculative fiction that is intended to frighten, scare, disgust (NOT on my blog or anywhere else!) or startle its readers by inducing feelings of horror and terror. Literary historian J. A. Cuddon defined the horror story as "a piece of fiction in prose of variable length which shocks, or even frightens the reader, or perhaps induces a feeling of repulsion or loathing". It creates an eerie and frightening atmosphere. Horror is frequently supernatural, though it might be non-supernatural. Often the central menace of a work of horror fiction can be interpreted as a metaphor for the larger fears of a society.

Visual:
Horror aesthetic visuals are designed to achieve some sort of element of discomfort, fear, disgust, or any sort of imagery that can trigger the "fight or flight" response people naturally have. This differs from the Halloween visual aesthetic because Halloween imagery tends to be sillier with its handling of macabre imagery, thus not being taken as seriously as it could when it's played straight in the horror aesthetic.

As I am focusing specifically on Psychological Horror here is some information about it!:

Psychological horror is a subgenre of horror and psychological fiction with a particular focus on mental, emotional, and psychological states to frighten, disturb, or unsettle its audience. Psychological horror usually aims to create discomfort or dread by exposing common or universal psychological and emotional vulnerabilities/fears and revealing the darker parts of the human psyche that most people may repress or deny. This idea is referred to in analytical psychology as the archetypal shadow characteristics: suspicion, distrust, self-doubt, and paranoia of others, themselves, and the world.

The genre sometimes seeks to challenge or confuse the audience's grasp of the narrative or plot by focusing on characters who are themselves unsure of or doubt their own perceptions of reality or questioning their sanity. Characters' perceptions of their surroundings or situations may indeed be distorted or subject to delusions, outside manipulation or gas lighting by other characters; emotional disturbances or trauma; and even hallucinations or mental disorders.

 We got introduced to "Things to consider"  a few lessons ago and now we have to think about what three points we want to include in our music video.  In today's lesson, we talked about Enigma , which basically means that a lot of questions are open. Point 6: Past videos from The Killers

  Three videos and why I like them I researched the Artist "The Killers" and watched a few music videos from the past. For this task I am going to chose three videos that I like and state why they caught my interest.  The Killers - Human The reason why I like the music video for "Human" so much, is because they never left the colour scheme they went for. It was all gold, yellow-ish with black and white. Furthermore, I like the idea of putting short films about different animals in the video. It gives of a brave vibe.  The Killers - Smile like you mean it Another music video that I really like. It is especially the editing and camerawork that has caught my attention. The camera work makes it feel like a little movie, while the editing gives off a kind of supernatural style.
